Family Gatherings Worker

Charrine Lace, is from the Laksilyu (Small Frog) Clan of the Wet’suwet’en. She is trained in Northwest Coast Native Art, First Nations herbs and medicinal tea, computer graphics, business, and accounting.

Charrine readily volunteers for local Elementary and High school First Nation Programs throughout the school year and facilitates First Nations art and craft workshops and events around the Bulkley Valley. As a 60’s scoop child taken at the age of 2 years old, she has now moved back to Witset in 2011 with her husband and two children. She finds solace in the spiritual practices of Smudging, meditation and being out in nature. From Spring to Fall you can find her out in the wilderness most of the time.

The “Family Gathering” program is mandated to support families to work with the communities of Bulkley Valley to address the social determinants of health and wellbeing. Through the program Charrine creates opportunities for families to come together and celebrate culture, food and traditions in a safe and welcoming environment.
