Manal Sayed joined the Dze L K’ant Friendship Centre Society in August, 2021. Coming from a diverse background, she has a good understanding of different cultures, bringing unique and new insights to the Mental Health field. While in her country of origin, Manal gained a profound understanding of the effects of trauma and oppression on the human mind. Thus, she is passionate about helping and supporting those who have suffered either situation, treating people through therapeutic healing.

Manal grows every day through the stories of her clients; their strength and stories inspire and motivate her to become a better person—a better advocate for those who need her voice. She is fully present to listen, support, and voice the needs of those who cannot do so themselves, while assisting them using psycho-therapeutic modalities. Furthermore, Manal’s beliefs for an equal and just society allow her to help all people without discrimination. She is honoured to walk the journey with everyone—Indigenous, non-Indigenous, people of colour, or LGTBQ.

Manal holds a Health Science Degree in Nursing from Al Ryyan Academy (Saudi Arabia), where she was a Registered Nurse at the Maternity and Children’s Hospital. She also holds a BA in Psychology/Biology from Lycoming College (Williamsport, PA) and a BSc in Psychology/Biology from UNBC. Manal’s undergraduate research focused on embodied cognition. She is fascinated by psychology and biology.
